Kids enjoy Santa Day 2015

Santa Day Xmas 2015

Warrimooians should take a bow for turning up in numbers to the latest ‘Santa Day’ at Warrimoo Oval last December.

It was a delightful afternoon, helped by the fact that this year’s ‘Santa Team’ from the Fire Brigade was a real gem.

They spent time with the eager kids and gave them a full appreciation of the generosity of Xmas.

It was a hot afternoon, but in the spirit of the day the Fire Brigadiers gave the kids a hefty dose of cooling ‘big hose spray’—maybe this could become a ‘tradition’ of the day?

Joel Macrae did a great job overseeing the ‘Frozen’ jumping castle, Lachlan Davis, Steve Barratt and Jenny Wahlen survived both climate and BBQ heat to provide sizzled snags and ice cold drinks, while Liz Hale and Maja Martuzc painted gleeful children’s faces.

A cricket match even began on the oval, thanks to Rob Pecovnik.

The Moo Choir performed in their usual stirling way, and deserve our praise and gratitude for their annual quest to engage the community in carols singing. Without their presence, it simply would not be ‘Xmassy’ enough on Santa Day.

Liz Phillips deserves special mention for taking up conducting duties in the absence of normal director, Suzanne Langford.

Special thanks go to Dave Hart and the LBMJRL club for allowing us use of the facilities at Warrimoo Oval—the ice came in especially handy!
